Thank you, producers!

At Lagache, our job is to connect the producer to the retailer. In turn – via retail – we are connected to the consumer. That’s why it’s so important for both our retail and shipping businesses to listen to their needs.
Consumers have precise expectations; we need to identify them, share them and, above all, explain them to our producers, because they are the ones at the origin of this food chain.
What are these expectations?
- ENJOYMENT: consumers want to treat themselves by enjoying the fruit and vegetables they buy.
- BE SURPRISED: consumers like to find their favourite products, but they also like to discover new products and new flavours.
- PURCHASING POWER, and yes, that’s something to bear in mind, especially in the current climate! The good news is that good fruit and vegetables – whatever people say – are still very affordable and there’s something for everyone’s wallet.
- They’re also concerned about THEIR HEALTH AND THE PLANET, so with a healthy dose of CSR, it’s Bingo!
With all these ingredients, consumers are won over!
While these expectations may seem legitimate and, on the face of it, easy to meet, in reality it’s not so simple. For the producer, satisfying the consumer requires complex and costly work that demands extreme rigour and attention every day, every hour.
Let’s not lose sight of the fact that without producers, there can be no fruit or vegetables! So it’s essential that we listen to them, value them and encourage them and their work, so that they can continue to invest in producing quality fruit and vegetables.
I would like to take this opportunity to salute their work and their commitment.
To illustrate this, this week we’ve put the spotlight on producers who are passionate about their work and committed to their missions. Anthony, with his peaches and nectarines from Roussillon “K TALENT DU FRUIT”, as well as André and Huguette, not forgetting Vincent and Aude, all 4 of whom are very much on the west side of J with their delicious tomatoes “le 13”. Thanks to the presence of chef LUC, who sublimated these products on the LAGACHE floor, we were able to treat our customers to peaches, nectarines and tomatoes of all kinds, from virtuous cultures!
