Lagache’s youngsters are on a roll!

09 October 2025

With backgrounds in engineering, finance or sales, they can be found in every department of the company!

✅ Marie Declerck – Shipping
A recent graduate of UniLaSalle Beauvais, Marie has been on a permanent contract since1 October. She is already familiar with the company: for her 5ᵉ year at school, she was on a professionalization contract.
As the daughter of market gardeners, working in fruit and vegetables was an obvious choice. She discovered Lagache during a seasonal job at the Wholesale Market and met Xavier, who offered her a job in Shipping.
“Adrenalin guaranteed with the clockwork purchases, the contacts and the responsiveness. When you arrive, you feel at ease: there’s a warm, family atmosphere”.

✅ Robin Zuliani – Accounting
A master’s student at IGEFI (accountancy and chartered accountancy), Robin wasn’t thinking about fruit and vegetables, but discovered Lagache at a job dating event. He was thinking of doing a year’s work-linked training… so he did two!
He enjoys the transition from theory to practical applications, and the working atmosphere:
“The goodwill of everyone here makes it a great place to work. I’m learning, I’m becoming more independent and I like where I am.

✅ Gaston Coo – Carreau & prospecting
Gaston graduated from EGC (sales and management) in December and is just completing a 6-month work-study placement. Coming from a family of entrepreneurs in the packaging of potatoes, onions and condiments, the sector is no stranger to him.
He has created a prospecting file, met customers and welcomed them on the shop floor.
“I’ve been trusted, I’ve become more independent and I like the good atmosphere.
If he leaves, it’s to join the family business. He was careful to recommend Philippine to take over.

✅ Philippine Poidevin – Diamonds & prospecting
She’s at EGC (like Gaston) and has been taking over from Gaston for the last two weeks. With her bachelor’s degree in hand, she’s aiming for a master’s degree in commerce and management, again on a sandwich course.
Her first impressions:
“At Lagache, you get a really warm welcome. You feel kindness, goodwill and sympathy. You have to get up early, but there’s a great atmosphere.

The “Lagache secret” according to them
In a context where we often talk about generations clashing, they testify to the opposite:

  • Inspirational managers: Xavier and Frédérique embody this good spirit
  • Prepared integration: everyone goes through all the jobs to understand the different professions. It’s rewarding, it helps you get to know each other and understand that we all need each other to move forward.
  • Fluid communication based on mutual respect: regular micro-meetings where alternates and managers exchange ideas, clarify issues and resolve problems immediately.

The result: a cohesion that makes you want to stay… and makes everyone say: “If any managers are sceptical, let them come and spend a day at Lagache!
