The “Le goût en couleurs” festival, organised by the Interfel regional committee for the Hauts-de-France region, will be bringing the Lille wholesale market in Lomme to life over two days, 30 September and1 October. Here’s the programme.
On Friday 30 September and Saturday1 October in Lille, the entire fruit and vegetable sector in the Hauts-de-France region will be present for the first edition of the “Le goût en couleurs” festival at the Euralimentaire wholesale market in Lomme. The aim of this event is twofold: firstly, to take concrete action with the general public to boost consumption of fresh fruit and vegetables, and secondly, to strengthen the links between the various players in the Nordic sector.
Organised by the Interfel regional committee, the event features a packed programme of activities and meetings. These will be organised into several itineraries. For example, the section entitled “On the road to the future” will focus on presenting the different methods of producing fruit and vegetables in the region, highlighting the region’s SIQO and also highlighting the research, experimentation and innovation work underway : eight Euralimentaire start-ups will be exhibiting alongside Bio en Hauts-de-France, the CTIFL and Aprifel, the Interfel OpenLab, and the Légumes Région Nord cluster, among others. Another section will be dedicated to employment, bringing together young people, jobseekers and companies.
A strong representation of companies
The business village will be a dedicated area for the industry’s key players to present their expertise, products and innovations to visitors. It also aims to highlight companies other than those at the wholesale market (which will be open over the 2 days) and is intended to be representative of the fresh fruit and vegetable sector.
Wholesalers are delighted with the initiative:
Xavier Martin, CEO of Lagache: ” The festival’s ultimate mission is to promote the consumption of fruit and vegetables in Hauts-de-France. It’s an opportunity to explain that fruit and vegetables aren’t all that expensive compared with other foods. That they are both virtuous and tasty. But ‘Taste in Colour’ is also a fantastic springboard for showing the importance of the wholesale market, an incredible economic source, to institutions and politicians “.
