CSE: two years already!

11 September 2026

It has been two years since the CSE was established at Lagache.
What exactly does it do? How does it work, and how has it changed the day-to-day lives of the teams?

Delphine Loridan, a member of the Social and Economic Committee (CSE) alongside Victor Chombart, her deputy, reflects on these first two years and reminds us of what really matters: “A CSE is, first and foremost, a forum for listening, discussion and putting forward ideas.”

“Victor and I act as the link between the teams and Xavier.”

Once a month, the Works Council meets to discuss a range of topics: the figures for the past month, the general atmosphere, minor day-to-day issues, as well as ideas and activities that help to boost team spirit. “From performance figures and ongoing recruitment to the end-of-year party, there’s a place for every topic!” says Delphine.

Improving day-to-day life sometimes comes down to very simple things. For example, as staff regularly work in cold stores, the Works Council proposed providing everyone with a hat. Another change has been the introduction of meal vouchers, which better meet the staff’s expectations than the fruit and vegetable basket previously offered.

“We are proactive in suggesting lots of small initiatives which, when taken together, make a real contribution to fostering a positive atmosphere and improving day-to-day life.”

Making the most of the good times

✔️The CSE isn’t just there to raise or resolve issues. It helps to improve the quality of ‘company life’: end-of-season meals, galette, end-of-year gifts…

✔️The Works Council also takes the initiative to organise events that bring customers and staff together at Le Carreau. “During the World Cup, activities were organised at Le Carreau, whilst an MPP (Mon Petit Prono) competition brought the whole team together. There was a little surprise at the end: two women were among the three winners… and it wasn’t necessarily the biggest football fans who’d got it right!”

A date… without waiting for the date

The teams are aware of the Works Council’s schedule and are consulted in advance. But at Lagache, there’s no question of waiting for the monthly meeting when an issue needs to be addressed.

“In our culture, we don’t wait for things to get out of hand. We deal with issues as they arise,” explains Delphine.

At the end of each meeting, Xavier updates the CSE logbook, which is accessible to everyone.

After two years, Delphine gives a positive assessment: “The CSE hasn’t brought about a revolution, and that’s just as well! It’s more a sign that things are running smoothly. But it does make communication more fluid and helps to further cultivate and embed certain practices.”

Ultimately, the CSE fulfils its role effectively: listening, ensuring that everyone’s voice is heard, making proposals and taking practical action to help us live and work better together.
