Exactly 3 years and six months ago, Guy Lagache handed over the keys to his company to me… What a great company!
Great products, thanks to top-quality producers and a committed, hard-working team, which inevitably means great customers who come back again and again!
The company that Guy Lagache entrusted to me is just as he described it – no wolves! Thank you Guy! Three years and six months later, I’m delighted to have successfully completed the acquisition of this company, which markets fresh fruit and vegetables.
The fresh fruit and vegetable sector is virtuous, solid and a safe bet.
Fruit and vegetables – sometimes maligned by some in the media – are widely perceived by consumers as healthy, good-for-you products. Most products are affordable for most people.
For this alchemy to work, all the players in the sector must be satisfied, with priority given to :
- Upstream, well-paid producers, so that they have the desire and the means to supply us with quality products,
- Downstream, consumers who, when they eat fruit and vegetables on their own, with friends or family, enjoy them and go back to buy more.
And between the two, there’s the marketer – of which we are a part – whether he’s a shipper or a wholesaler, and of course the retail sector, with primeurs, market halls, open-air markets, specialist shops, supermarkets and local authorities… It’s up to all these players to act as a link, to ‘cement’ the relationship between the producer and the consumer.
When all this comes together, it works, the market is there, it’s there for us!
That’s what I’ve been seeing for the last three years and six months. Despite recent pressure on purchasing power, our customers are doing well, consumers are there and they’re enjoying themselves! So let’s take care of them and our producers! It is with these convictions of a promising future that I wish you an excellent year 2024!
