“I discovered the M.I.N during a work placement, and I can’t wait to go back!”
A journey built step by step
It was during a work placement as part of his BTS in SME/SMI Management Assistance that he discovered the M.I.N.
“I immediately loved the atmosphere at the M.I.N. There’s a special energy there that really made an impression on me.”
Once he’d graduated, he quickly returned to the job market with his first permanent contract as an order picker. But Alexis is curious and always wants to go further.
“I wanted to develop my career. The sales role appealed to me: customer contact, the products, the pace…”
After a rewarding stint working with fruit at a wholesaler, he had a good understanding of the market and the various players involved.
When Xavier Martin contacted him in January, they already knew each other: “Lagache is a wonderful company. When the opportunity came up again, I didn’t hesitate.”
Alexis joined the team on 4 May, following two interviews.
Discovering, learning, pushing boundaries – that’s Alexis’s mindset
By joining Lagache, Alexis has moved into a new field: he came from the fruit sector, but is now in the Vegetables department at Le Carreau. “I wanted to learn something new, to broaden my skills and discover a different way of working.”
Today, he is primarily in charge of tomato procurement. But at Lagache, decisions are never made alone. “Before every purchase, we discuss producers, volumes, prices and so on with the teams. Communication is constant. It’s a real strength: we’re all pulling in the same direction.”
The customer at the heart of the business
What drives Alexis day in, day out is, above all, his relationship with customers.
“What I enjoy is finding the products that really meet their needs, satisfying them and sometimes even surprising them with high-quality produce or new items.”
Because at Lagache, the product ranges are constantly evolving to better meet the expectations of professionals.
Two months on… no regrets!
After just a few weeks, Alexis is already convinced he’s found his place.
“Looking back over the past two months, I think I made the right choice. The way we work at Lagache suits me perfectly.”
He sums up the company’s ethos in a few words:
“We’re a tight-knit team, we all push each other to do better, and we work in excellent conditions. It makes you want to give it your all when you arrive in the morning. It’s a demanding, quality-focused company… but above all, a very collaborative one.”
