About us : Jennifer Demey, Accounting and HR Manager

13 May 2026

Jennifer loves challenges, innovation… and constant learning.

After obtaining a Master’s degree in Control, Accounting and Auditing, she began her career in a firm of chartered accountants before joining the retail sector. For 10 years, at the Super U store in Houplines, she was in charge of the accounts as well as part of the human resources department: payslips, employment contracts, redundancy procedures, relations with the authorities, etc. It was a rich experience, marked by a fine rise to prominence.

At the dawn of her forties, Jennifer began to ask herself one question: “Can I see myself working at Super U for another 25 years? Even though she was delighted with the experience, she explains: “I wanted challenges, to open up and learn, so it was the right time.

That’s when a headhunter contacted her about a job as HR and Accounts Manager in a human-sized company that was growing fast… and located just 10 minutes from her home.

“It was almost too good to be true, even though I wanted a family business that was on the move! I did some research on the company and saw how dynamic it was in terms of strategy and communication. All the indicators were green. Then I had a meeting with Frédérique and Xavier Martin, and I got a good feeling about them straight away. Jennifer continues: “Leaving Super U was a difficult decision, but I needed a new challenge. Meeting Frédérique was the deciding factor.

From the moment she arrived, Jennifer quickly felt she belonged. She immediately realises that the way employees are treated and the way the company’s values are embodied really make a difference.

A warm welcome, a good environment, with a real emphasis on support functions:
“It’s the sum total of small gestures that make you want to give of yourself.

In this fast-growing company, her role includes taking charge of the administrative side of recruitment to support Xavier, as well as helping Frédérique with accounting matters. “I’ve still got a lot to discover!

Two months after her arrival, “things are clicking in all the right places”, Jennifer explains enthusiastically. She talks about meeting new people, but also about the feeling of a real exchange between what she has learnt during her career and what she can now bring to Lagache. A win/win deal.

She also highlights the energy of a fast-growing company, driven by a clear strategy and a management team constantly seeking innovation and development, capable of daring and taking risks.
“I’m going to learn a lot. Thank you to Xavier and Frédérique for allowing me to experience a new adventure. Thank you to the Lagache teams for your warm welcome.
